Graffiti Update at the Cherokee Site
When Cherokee took over the western portion of the Gates Rubber Company factory in 2002, the buildings were decommissioned and the power was turned off. This had the unfortunate consequence of attracting graffiti artists. In May 2005, Cherokee hired a contractor to install spotlights on Broadway and in the alley ways. In addition to increasing the lighting on the site, Cherokee has increased the security presence from 3 hours to 12 hours per day, 7 days a week.

A company has also been hired by Cherokee to do the graffiti removal. As of mid-July 2005, this company has successfully removed the graffiti. There has been some recent activity, but Cherokee's graffiti team gets on it as soon as it is discovered. Furthermore, Cherokee has installed wood panels over the low glass windows to help prevent un-wanted entry.

Should anyone near the site spot any suspicious activity, please call the police dispatch at 720-913-2000 and give a description of what activity you saw. You can also notify the on-site security guard if you see them. If a crime is in progress please call 911.
