Kiewit Building Group is committed to communicating opportunities to individuals and organizations wishing to play a meaningful role in the project.

Minority-owned and Woman-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE)

Kiewit Building Group recognizes that successfully completing this project will require a wide variety of contractors and subcontractors from multiple disciplines. Much of the work may be suitable for small businesses, and our goal is to provide participation opportunities for Minority-owned and Woman-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs).

Best Value Contracting Selection Method

Historically, construction projects have taken the approach that the low bidder on a particular job was awarded the work. Unfortunately, this method did not always serve the public good. The low bid approach does not take into consideration the whether past performance by a particular contractor was conducted on-time and on-budget, whether the contractor has a good safety record, whether a contractor pays his/her workers prevailing wage and health benefits, etc.

For the Cherokee Redevelopment of the former Gates Rubber Factory Site, Kiewit Building Group, acting as the Construction Manager, is committed to using a Best Value Contracting method to recommend/award contracts between the contractor and the Metro District.

Contact us for more information on M/WBE participation or the Best Value Contracting selection method.
